Will Kostakis’, American debut novel, The Sidekicks is an exploration of grief. Although that may sound heavy, Kostakis weaves in all aspects of friendship, sexuality, internal thoughts, and family to create a story that is lighthearted and hopeful.

Tattered Cover Bookstore’s, annual Teen Book Con, was alive with excited teens and smiling authors. This year, there were 24 authors from around the country, each writing wholly different genres from romance to adventure stories. Yet each of these authors has one thing in common: their passion for writing and their happiness to discuss all the trials, tribulations and joys of being a writer.

When mornings become a hassle, breakfast doesn’t have to. On a normal day, most kids head straight to the pantry for cereal.

Every year in the state of Colorado alone, 15,000 students participate in the National History Day competition. History Day is a national competition that is dedicated to teaching students history through an intensive study of specific historical events. The organization strives to illuminate history for students in middle school and high school by presenting an annual theme and the task of creating a project to present the yearlong study of an idea, event, or person from the past. Through work and a precise following of many steps, students will be able to develop an exceptional project that could even win some awards at the end of the school year.

Most people think of school as boring and dull.  But it doesn't have to be that way.  You can change it up and have fun this year!
